Culpeper Community Garden, Angel

Hidden near Angel station, and close to the O2 Academy, Culpeper Community Garden is a quiet and relaxing garden which makes the visitors forget about the fuss of city’s life. Set up in 1982 by the local community, it is one of the oldest local gardens in London.

With a little pond, full of tadpoles, trees of many colours and green space for picnics, the community garden also allows the locals to plant their own herbs, fruits and vegetables, that they could use at home or during community meeting. Tea & cakes parties are happening once the sun is out.

Next to a playground, most of the garden’s ambience comes from a mix of kids cheering and enjoying the nature, and animals in their natural habitat. Culpeper is definitely a green oasis in the middle of the city jungle.
